About
Mum of 2 in Cardiff. coach, personal trainer and pilates teacher. ninja wannabe, entrepreneur and introverted extrovert.
I’m passionate about empowerment through strength, movement, self-care and a healthy mindset. I believe that physical strength builds mental strength and I encourage my clients to focus on strength, skills and challenging their impossible instead of focusing on a number on the scales.
The truth is, I wasn't always so active and I didn't always have a great relationship with my body or with food. I used to spend my days at a desk and my evenings in front of the TV or in the pub. I didn't move very much and ate pretty badly. It was a lifestyle that left me with low energy and an even lower mood.
I can totally relate to anyone wanting to make changes but feeling overwhelmed by it.
I know what it's like to feel disconnected from my body and trapped in over thinking mode. I know what it's like to think that exercise and fitness is something that’s for 'other people'. I know what it's like to feel totally intimidated walking into a gym. I know what it's like to feel silly trying something new. I know what it's like to beat myself up over not making the best choices. I know what it's like to look in the mirror and not like what you see.
And I know the effect that all these things have on your life.
From feeling this way, I made it my mission to figure this stuff out. After all, who wants to spend time feeling stuck and disempowered when there are so many more...well …FUN things to be doing?!
Life is just too short...RIGHT??!!
Since 2005 I have been studying exercise, movement and mindset. I traded in my office job for leggings and trainers and now work full time as a personal trainer and coach. I continue to study different forms of movement as well as meditation and mindfulness techniques.
On this journey, I have come to know what it feels like to be strong, to feel empowered in my body and inspired by what it can do. I have learned what it is to love myself unconditionally, regardless of my size, shape or number of stretch marks I have. I have learned to challenge my impossible.
I know that if I can bust out a set of pull ups, push ups and pistol squats, that there is not much I can’t achieve. I know that through physical and mental strength I can stay in my power regardless of the challenges life throws at me. I’ve learned how to meet myself with grace and to embrace, accept my flaws…and still be a badass!
Most of all I have learned that ANYONE can level up their life at ANY time. It doesn't have to require huge amounts of discipline or an iron will. All that’s needed is a belief that feeling amazing is possible and an intention to love and treat yourself kindly.
I believe strongly that through physical movement, strength and self belief, we can really discover our own power and feel fabulous in the process.
